What is Color Chooser?

Color Chooser is an option which can allow you to customize the website’s colors to your liking. All you have to do is click on Color Chooser, a panel will drop down. Choose the color(s) you want then on Apply Colors and finally on Color Chooser to hide the panel.

How do I register?

Just click on “Register”  at the top of the page then fill out the form. You will receive an activation message at the email address you provided, click on it to activate your account and you’re set.

What do I do if I forgot my password?

Just click on “Forgot Password” at the top of the page, submit the email address you used during registration and your username and/or password will be sent to it.

How do I leave a comment?

First make sure that your registered and/or logged in, then click on add comment.

How do I start a thread?

First make sure that you are registered and/or logged in, then go to MEMBERS → FORUM, choose a category then click on new thread.

How do I post a reply?

First make sure that you are registered and/or logged in, then go to MEMBERS → FORUMS, choose a category, the thread, then click on “Post Reply”.

Why was my thread/post deleted?

Because they were against the Forum Rules.

Do I have to register?

Only if you wish to start a thread, leave posts in the forum area, post comments, download a certain amount of files a day and receive update. You don’t need to be registered to watch and rate trailers, or read comments.

Why do I get "Sorry, your download limit has been reached"

Because you have used the amount of files you were allocated to download.

Why are there no VNS available in the MSC?

The files haven't been converted yet. As soon as the conversion will be finished, the files will be added.

I downloaded file(s) but it won't work.

Make sure that your download was completed and that you are using it with a compatible software. If it still isn't working, Register/Login, go to MEMBERS →  SUPPORT TICKET. Make sure to list the file name, format, software you were trying to use and the Admin will take a look at it and get back to you.

I have a technical problem with a file, can you help me?

Unless the problem has to do with the files not opening, no. Believe it or not, I am a beginner when it comes to CG work. I only know one maxscript and that is to batch convert from fbx to max and the python script to bactch convert from fbx to mb was given to me by the Autodesk FBX support team. The script is unofficial and untested but worked just fine for me. You can always try to post your issue in the forum and someone might help you.

Why does the website open at the far right and/or not correctly?

Some people do complain about the website not displaying correctly. I have tried opening it with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera and it alway is showing just fine. But I will try to solve that issue.

How long did it take you to convert the files?

The CMU Library took me three months (mostly because I had to learn how to use some of the softwares), the Kitchen a few days and the MCS files, two weeks.

Why did you go thru so much troubles?

I wanted to have a large collection of motion files before I started making my own shorts when I stumble on the CMU files. As you might know, they are not in popular formats, so I started converting them in formats of differents softwares I might want to use. Later I realised that there were many people struggling to use them, so I added the DOWNLOADS section on the website and uploaded the files.

When will the files from MocapData.com be available and will they be in VNS format too?

I hope to finish downloading them by mid November and the files should be available by the end of November in bvh, dae, fbx, mb and max (if the server moves to a dedicated server). The VNS format will come by the end of the year.

What is the VIDEOS sections for?

That is where I intended on posting my shorts. But that won't happen until maybe next year. In the mean time, I think I am going to rent it. So iif you have a CG movie and would like some exposure and critique, CONTACT US and we will see what we can work.

I would like to receive a DVD of certain files in a certain format, how do I make it happen?

CONTACT US with the list and format you want, your full address and how you would like the DVD to be shipped (Normal mail, DHL) and I'll get back to you with the cost. NOTE: Option not yet available.

How can I contact the website?

Just go to CONTACT US where you will be able to send an email to the Admin. Below the contact form, there is a chat box. If it says available, click on it and you will be able to chat live with the Admin.

Are comments and suggestions about the website accepted?

Absolutely.
